What do the classes mean?

The EN ISO 20345 standard defines various levels of protection for work footwear. The basic requirement is a protective toe cap resistant to impact of 200 J.

S1 — basic protection

Antistatic, energy absorption in the heel, resistance to oils. Suitable for dry indoor environments — warehouses, assembly halls.

S2 — S1 + water resistance

Adds resistance of the upper to water penetration (60 minutes). Suitable for humid environments — food processing, gastronomy.

S3 — S2 + sole resistance to puncture

Equipped with a steel or textile anti-perforation insert in the sole, profiled tread pattern. Construction, agriculture, forestry.

How to choose?

Assess the risks of the work environment: surface (dry/wet), threat of puncture (nails, glass), contact with chemicals. If in doubt, contact our store — we'll be happy to advise.
